My name is Teija Järvisalo

My name is Teija Järvisalo, I am a native Finnish freelance translator with an international background. I was born and raised in Finland, where I lived the first 20 years of my life, but have pursued my university education and built my professional career in Barcelona, where I have been living since 2008.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Linguistics from Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona (2014) and a Master’s Degree in Translation Technologies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2015).

Having worked in different roles inside the translation industry, I now provide translation, editing, proofreading, SEO copywriting and audio transcription services as an independent Finnish language professional. Typically, I work with English, Spanish or Catalan as source languages. Thanks to the 10+ years living, studying and working in an environment where I constantly use Spanish and Catalan in my day-to-day life, I speak and write also those languages at a near-native level. I hold an official C1 level certificate in Catalan (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

I strive to provide the highest level of quality and service in every project I work on. I also believe that the use of translation technologies is a must to ensure the best possible consistency and overall quality of a translation. That’s why I work with SDL Trados Studio 2021.
